Berlin is hosting a series of major NVIDIA announcements this week. During his October 21 keynote at GTC Berlin 2026, founder and CEO Jensen Huang presented new technologies for autonomous AI agents, advanced computing infrastructure and industrial applications. The conference runs from October 20 to 22, bringing international companies, researchers and developers to the German capital.
One announcement is particularly relevant to Berlin's technology ecosystem: NVIDIA plans to acquire a minority stake in Reflex Aerospace, a space scaleup with operations in Berlin and Munich. The investment was first announced on October 19.
Reflex Aerospace: Satellite Technology From Berlin and Munich
Reflex Aerospace develops and manufactures satellite platforms that can be adapted to specific payloads and applications, including Earth observation, communications and space domain awareness. According to the company, newly developed satellites can typically be delivered within nine to twelve months, compared with two to four years for traditional satellite programmes.
The planned NVIDIA investment will support the expansion of production in Bavaria and further development of the company's satellite architecture. A particular focus is on on-board processing, enabling data to be processed directly on satellites. Financial terms of the planned investment have not been disclosed.
In November 2025, Reflex Aerospace completed a €50 million Series A funding round. Existing investors include Alpine Space Ventures, Human Element, Bayern Kapital and HTGF. The company has also been part of Berlin's technology ecosystem since opening its local office in 2021.
AI Agents and Physical AI Take Centre Stage
During his GTC keynote, Huang introduced NVIDIA DSX POD, a reference design for modular AI data centres. According to NVIDIA, on-site installation could be reduced from six months to just 14 days, provided the necessary utilities are available.
NVIDIA also presented its OpenShell Reference Architecture, designed to support the secure operation of autonomous AI agents. Further examples from manufacturing, research and healthcare demonstrated how AI is increasingly being integrated into real-world workflows and industrial processes.
On October 19, NVIDIA and the German federal government signed a joint declaration of intent at the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin. The agreement aims to advance AI models for physical AI and encourage wider adoption of industrial AI across Germany.
Berlin as a Hub for AI Research and Innovation
NVIDIA also has an established presence in Berlin beyond GTC. According to Jensen Huang, around 150 researchers work at NVIDIA's Berlin location, focusing on areas including robotics, autonomous driving, computer graphics and telecommunications. Berlin-based AI company n8n also counts NVIDIA's investment arm NVentures among its investors.
With GTC, Berlin is bringing together international AI developers, researchers and businesses. The planned investment in Reflex Aerospace further illustrates how Berlin-based technology companies can benefit from international partnerships, particularly at the intersection of AI, deep tech and industrial applications.
