Race Against the Machine: AI, Quantum and the Future of Bitcoin

Interdisciplinary event exploring how advances in artificial intelligence and quantum computing could challenge modern cryptography, digital security, and the future of Bitcoin.

What happens when artificial intelligence and quantum computing begin to challenge the cryptographic foundations of the digital world? “Race Against the Machine: AI, Quantum and the Future of Bitcoin” brings together experts in AI, quantum technologies, and Bitcoin to examine emerging security risks and possible responses.

Modern financial systems, digital identities, and cryptocurrencies rely on public-key cryptography. Advances in quantum computing could eventually undermine widely used cryptographic methods, while AI-assisted mathematical research and algorithmic optimization may influence how these threats develop. The event explores the implications for digital infrastructure and the transition towards post-quantum cryptography.

A particular focus is Bitcoin, where publicly accessible blockchain data, irreversible transactions, and decentralized governance create distinct challenges for potential security upgrades. Speakers from Bundesdruckerei, Bitcoin Core development, and AI consultancy will discuss technical developments, possible mitigation strategies, and the decisions facing the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
