NFDI4DS Conference 2026 – AI Meets RDM
Conference on research data infrastructure for AI and AI applications in research data management.
The NFDI4DS Conference 2026 will take place on November 5–6, 2026 at the Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin. Under the theme “AI Meets RDM – Research Data Management Infrastructure for AI and AI for Research Data Management Infrastructure?”, the annual community conference brings together researchers and practitioners from data science, artificial intelligence, and research data management.
The conference approaches the topic from two directions. First, it explores the research data management infrastructures needed for AI research, with a focus on transparency, reproducibility, and managing data, models, and code throughout the full lifecycle of scientific resources. Second, it examines how generative AI can improve research data management itself, for example through automated metadata extraction or interactive interfaces for querying and contextualizing datasets.
The two-day event is planned in a lunch-to-lunch format and includes talks, posters, and demos. A highlight on the evening of the first day is the traditional NFDI Science Slam. The abstract submission deadline was September 1, 2026, while participation registration is handled separately.
