HANDS ON MEDIA #4: Build Your Own Tool with AI Coding
Hands-on workshop on building custom software tools with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, even without extensive programming experience.
The fourth edition of HANDS ON MEDIA, organized by MediaTech Hub Potsdam, explores how AI coding tools can help media professionals develop their own software applications and workflows.
Led by AI coding expert Marcel Claus-Ahrens, the workshop introduces practical approaches to developing tools with Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, without requiring advanced programming skills. Participants learn how structured context preparation and the use of Skills.md can support more efficient development and improve results.
Another focus is working with AI coding tools through local terminals or integrated development environments (IDEs), with attention to managing source code and data on participants' own computers. The workshop encourages participants to bring their own application or tool idea and explore how to turn it into a working solution.
