BIFOLD Event: Agentic AI for Earth Observation
Workshop on autonomous AI agents for Earth Observation, satellite data, and space missions.
The Agentic AI for Earth Observation Workshop will take place from October 19–21, 2026 in Berlin. Organized by the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data and the European Space Agency, the event brings together researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers from artificial intelligence, geospatial analytics, climate and weather science, remote sensing, and space mission operations.
The workshop focuses on the emerging role of agentic AI in Earth Observation. Autonomous, goal-driven systems can orchestrate data-processing chains, trigger context-aware workflows, and support real-time decision-making. Future applications also include adaptive mission planning, intelligent satellite tasking, opportunistic data acquisition, and cooperation between satellites.
The event connects academic and industry perspectives around cutting-edge research, practical challenges, and emerging applications. It also explores how LLM-driven planning and geospatial foundation models can be combined to improve information extraction, predictive analytics, and operational intelligence across Earth Observation systems.
