AI in Defense & Security: Dual Use – Expert Group
Expert group session on dual use and transferring civilian AI into defense and security.
The KI Park Expert Group “AI in Defense & Security: Dual Use” will take place on September 3, 2026 at KI Park e.V. in Berlin. The private session focuses on how civilian AI innovations can be systematically transferred into defense and security contexts.
The event explores dual-use potential and the transfer of AI applications from research, startups, and companies into security-relevant fields. Key questions include which civilian AI innovations are already relevant for defense and security, how dual-use potential can be identified, and what is needed to move innovations into practical application.
The session is part of the KI Park Expert Groups and brings together stakeholders from AI, defense, security, innovation, and policy. The Cyber Innovation Hub of the Bundeswehr will also participate. Contributions in the form of dual-use cases or impulses can be submitted to KI Park in advance.
