AI Conference 2026: Rethinking Green AI

The AI Conference 2026 “Rethinking Green AI” will take place on October 6, 2026 at Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH in Berlin. The conference focuses on how the resource consumption and emissions of AI can be assessed transparently and managed responsibly across the entire AI lifecycle.
Key topics include sustainable AI approaches related to data centers, hardware, water consumption, cooling, model deployment, training, reporting standards, and the use of Green AI in industry, crafts, and public administration. The event brings together experts from research, business, politics, and government to discuss potential, challenges, and practical solutions.
The program includes an opening by Federal Environment Minister Carsten Schneider, a keynote on small language models, panels, parallel sessions, AI showcases, and a closing get-together. The event will be held in German, with selected contributions possibly taking place in English.
