The Design Research eXplorations Research Department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) investigates intelligent technologies from a design-oriented and human-centred perspective. It uses material interaction, wearable computing, participatory methods, community engagement and iterative design processes for social and ethical technology assessment and experimental development. The research involves citizens in designing human-machine interaction, tools, products and services and supports sustainable and values-oriented digital participation.
