The AI in Society, Science and Technology Department at the Zuse Institute Berlin develops foundational and application-oriented AI methods for questions in society, science and industry. It combines mathematical optimisation and machine learning with multi-agent systems, computer vision, continual learning, transformer models and algorithmic methods for complex decision problems. Its work supports applications in education, environmental observation, scientific computing and industrial optimisation and provides new algorithms and software for research and practice.
