The Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD) at Technische Universität Berlin researches fundamental methods in machine learning and large-scale data management. It develops scalable data management systems, explainable and trustworthy learning methods, computer vision models, multimodal methods and approaches for evaluating AI systems. Its research provides technical foundations for data-driven applications in science, healthcare, Earth observation and other fields and is transferred into practice through technology transfer, start-ups and collaborations.
