The AI & Society Lab at the Alexander von Humboldt Institut für Internet und Gesellschaft investigates the social, political and cultural conditions for the design, use and regulation of artificial intelligence. It treats AI as a sociotechnical phenomenon and analyses explainability, public-interest orientation, sustainability, democratic principles and human rights standards. The Lab brings scientific findings into dialogue with policymakers, public administration, civil society and the public through workshops, public events, media formats and experimental applications.
